War Eagle & NYC!

Happy Tuesday!

So the wedding fun had died down but our football season was just getting exciting! As you know Mr. Tan Lines attended Auburn University in southern Alabama so naturally I became a huge fan as well! We even bought Miss Lily an Auburn sweater, isn’t it the cutest thing?! We anxiously watched two of the most exciting games at home and boy they sure didn’t let us down!! With just seconds to go Auburn took down Georgia with the play now known as “the prayer in Jordan Hare.” And just a few weeks later Auburn took down the #1 ranked team and defending BCS champs Alabama in what can arguably be called the most exciting ending to a game ever. EVER. With just ONE SECOND to go Auburn returned a kick and ran it back for 109 yards scoring a game winning touchdown. I get chills just thinking about it! Our neighbors 2 houses down said they could hear our screams of excitement! In Auburn there is a tradition to “roll” the trees after a big win. So we took to our front yard and threw around some toilet paper rolls. We made sure to be extra loud so that our Crimson Tide loving neighbor could hear our excitement :)

Remember a few months back when I wrote about going to New York? Well the time had come! It was early December and Mr. Tan Lines and I made our way north to the big apple. We had a fabulous stay! It was cold cold cold but it was beautiful! It snowed the entire day Saturday that made for beautiful scenery. We were also in town during the Heisman Trophy presentation so we got to check out the BCS bus!

We did a little bit of everything, we got to see the Christmas tree and Rockefeller Center. We went to the Top of The Rock at sunset which was beautiful! We had sushi on Friday night, because duh that’s our thing!

We also went to the September 11th Memorial which was quite emotional but beautiful. Freedom Tower was not open yet but we hope to go back sometime so we can explore that too!

We had dinner at City Lobster (remember Luti and I went there back in 2009!) which was so good! Steaks, clam chowder and a nice bottle of wine. Perfect evening!!
